Carolyn began her creative career studying fashion design before pivoting to the culinary world, where she refined her craft as a chef and pastry chef alongside respected local restaurateurs. A pioneer in the regional home staging industry, she built a reputation for transformative redesign—creating elevated, story-driven spaces using what clients already owned.

Her transition into the visual arts was anything but incremental. She describes it as having “spontaneously combusted into an artist.” What began as delicate watercolor assemblages under glass has evolved into intricate mixed-media works that resemble stained glass.

Carolyn developed and refined a proprietary technique that bridges collage, painting, and sculpture. She outlines hand-cut collage imagery with a dimensional sculptural medium, forming raised partitions reminiscent of the cloisonné method. These channels are then filled with richly pigmented resins, creating luminous, glass-like surfaces that refract light and give each piece architectural presence. The result is a tactile, jewel-toned composition that merges fine art with craft traditions.

Her work has appeared in feature films and television and is held in private collections internationally. She has also completed public art installations for the Michael Jordan Family Clinic and at the University of Maryland Medical Center, further extending her practice into civic and healing spaces.
